Am I A Survivor?

I ran to Walmart after work to grab my prescription of happy pills that had been awaiting me since Thursday. While there I picked up some Slim Fast shakes (rich chocolate royale, yum) to help keep me on track. I was tempted to go check out the top rated diet pills but didn’t. Instead I headed down to the pet department and bought Bruiser a bone.

Meanwhile, here he plays beside me with the lid from my diet Dr. Pepper instead, lol. I wish I was easily amused!

I received an email from Survivor Bootcamp today and saw that they are offering a bootcamp just up the street and at 6am or 6pm. I have 17 classes already prepaid from my last stint so I’d only have to pay for 3 classes. I’m thinking I should do it. I need to get serious and working out 5 days a week is pretty serious.

What do you think?

I think I will hold off until I can get myself to the gym 3x a week on my own. We already know that even if I have paid for it, it doesn’t make me go anymore…

Weekend Recap

Despite what people think, basic lasik surgery is a breeze. Seriously. Now PRK (a version of lasik) hurt at the end of the day but on Friday I had basic lasik. Why? Well for some reason my right eye didn’t ‘take’ when I had my original surgery in April 2008. So we are trying it again. Even without the enhancement (what they call a redo), I see 20/20 and I amaze them because it is my left eye, which was almost a -11, that sees the 20/20 lending it’s strength to the right (I think a 20/35) whereas it used to be the other way around. They are amazed at the huge gains the left made.

Anywho, I’m back up and running, but not literally – no exercise for 4 days allowed. I do hope to workout on the treadmill this week though.

On Friday when I got back from surgery I decided to step on the scale again. BIG MISTAKE as it had a freak out and would not give me an answer. The light stayed on and said nothing for 5 minutes so I did the only thing I could think of I took out a battery and the dang thing reset itself :( So I may have lost 3lbs but the scale don’t know that, LOL. Ah well – I know I am making strides, I don’t need a scale to tell me that. I don’t plan on getting on a normal numbers scale until Mary Lou says congrats I have lost 10lbs :)

Food wise, so far this weekend I’ve been pretty good (knock on wood!). I did eat too many bags of the All Bran Strawberry Snack Bites, I think I had three throughout the day – but it is better than chips or ice cream I would have had before.

Water…still horrid – but I am working on it.

Tuesday Randomness

Where is my motivation? I just want to sleep lately. The more sleep the better right now. I should have known better than to try to do bootcamp in the mornings. I KNOW me…why bother? Been busy at work and worked two, 730pm nights therefore missing bootcamp and there goes my $200. But no, no waste – Sue, my trainer is putting my 17 sessions (I’ve gone to 3 out of 20) aside and I can come when I have found my motivation. Super nice!

I bought a treadmill today from a co-worker. $400 for a very slightly used Tempo 620T Treadmill, normally $1,130 (with tax). I am going to set it up permanently in the living room and get my groove on. I WILL use it! I am also setting up a challenge with a co-worker who wants to get back into using hers too. Probably a mileage challenge for the month.

The face cream I bought for my acne has made my skin red and exceedingly dry – I am NOT winning, plus now I am breaking out with white heads on BOTH sides of my face AND my chest. I look a pretty picture! Fat and pimply!

On Saturday I got Buttercup tinted and she looks amazing. I even got the strip that goes across the windshield and wow, it definitely helps on the sun coming into the car and into my face…especially gets the areas where my sun visor cannot. I did get some exercise in that day. I walked for 60min from the tint shop to Tim Horton’s for lunch and I had a soup and sandwich.

I saw Jeff on Sunday, he wanted to see the car. I can say it is definitely over. We are friends and that is all we are going to be and it wasn’t him telling me this but me telling me this. I left at 330am (just spent the night for drivings sake, nothing else) and woke before then with a pretty big sinus headache. My eyeballs and sockets were aching so bad that I got up and took some drugs and waited for his alarm to go off where I left and had the worst drive home ever. Between feeling like I was going to throw up (lots of pain) to being super tired, my 50min drive felt like 90min. Once I got home I took more drugs, specifically sinus ones and set the alarm for 830am. I still woke up in pain so took a sick day. It didn’t go away until 430pm last night – it was awful. I have made an appointment to see my Doc for this (sinus headaches being too frequent and laying me flat for the day) and the acne. I couldn’t get in to see him until 7pm on October 21st though. The funny thing? That is my birthday.

Enough rambling…must get back to work!

It feels like a Monday!

Went to bootcamp tonight – it was core and I wasn’t all that happy with the workout. It was the 2nd trainer I just met last week (yes, the one who tried to kill me) and we used the ball. Last week Elnor’s core was amazing. I still got a good workout but it just didn’t feel the same.

I didn’t get in any real cardio…I have a sliver of glass in my right big toe which I cannot get out and so I have to wait for it to be pushed out more to the surface, so no 1km run tonight like the group did.

I am kind of fallen off the low carb wagon though not fully. I am trying to eat less carbs but when one goes to a thai restaurant and orders chicken & shrimp pad thai…it is hard to say “please hold the noodles”, lol. I had a nice big salad for dinner tonight.

I have set the alarm for 530am…will be trying to do the 6am bootcamp class tomorrow. Wish me luck!

1, 2, 3, 4…5

Well Thursday turned into Friday and Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday…

Today i was picking up my car and went to visit my father so…that is five days of no workouts.

But never fear…I am back to working out tomorrow! I will say that Friday I was still overly sore. It was like i pulled the muscles in the tops of my thighs – it was pretty bad.

But I did get in 3, 60min workouts last week so I am not disappointed in myself at all. In fact with working out, I am already feeling quite a lot better than myself so that is a huge plus for me.

Well I am off to read my Owner’s Manual – LOVE the smart. Photos to come!
