My Grandmother suggested that instead of moping about not fitting into any of my clothes, that I should go out and get some new ones. I have been saving two, $200 gift cards I got for Christmas from work to use when I lost 40 pounds, but I decided on Friday that while I was in Hamilton to see my doctor that I would go to my old mall haunt and use one of the cards.
I bought two pairs of capris, two tops, a new purse and a pair of women's shoes. I didn’t want to buy larger clothes, but the clothes I have in my closet won’t fit properly for another 20lbs or so and running around in winter (read: heavy) jeans all spring/summer is not my cup o’ tea.
I will say my Grandmother was right, even though I am 200lbs (uggh), I felt pretty today because my clothes fit. They may be larger clothes, but at least I didn’t have to worry about muffin top, back rolls and feeling frumpy.
The sooner the weight comes off the better…but I might as well feel better sooner than later.

Being over weight is not a crime, so it doesn’t deserve a punishment…. I feel strongly every woman should make herself feel as beautiful as she can to face this world.. You are beautiful…wear cute clothes that fit….. ALWAYS

I’m the same … I say I’m not going to buy anything else unless it’s a smaller size.
I’m not much of a shopper but look out when I get in the mood!

I’m right there with you Trish!! I”ve been reading your blog for a while .. and we are both the same height and had roughly the same start weight. You were an inspiration to me when I started to lose weight in late 2004. I reached 138 lbs by the end of 2006 .. and then I got pregnant. Now my lil man is 19 months, but I still weigh what I weighed at 9 months pregnant (178!). I’m back in a size 12 or sometimes 14 with all my cute size 6 clothes stashed in my closet!
